As the story goes, in the early 1970s, a American surfer from San Diego used to each fish tacos every time he visited the Baja peninsula to the South. Back at home, he craved the delicious fried crust on a refreshing corn tortilla, so he decided to take over an Orange Julius and launch his own taco stand. Well, that endeavor has now growth to over 200 locations while the fish taco has become synonymous with Southern California.
Baja Fish Tacos originated in Ensenada, a coastal city in Baja Mexico, about 75 miles south of the border of California. The fish is traditionally battered and fried making them crispy. The mix of of flavorful spices, combined with the texture of the cabbage and creaminess of the crema makes them fresh and delightful. A Baja Fish taco are traditionally fried and not blackened, and serving on corn and not flour tortillas, with thinly sliced cabbage, pico de gallo, crema, and lime.
However, we will provide the option for both blackened fish and flour tortillas. There will be three tacos per serving.
