We are taking you to Southern India to sample the traditional flavors from the Subcontinent. The highlight of this dish will be the fresh Curry leaves, which is not to be confused with curry powder.  A "Curry" is defined as a dish of meat or vegetables cooked in an Indian-style sauce of strong spices and turmeric and typically served with rice (Thanks Wilikleaks!...sorry, we meant Wikipedia!). In fact, curry leaves are seldom used in the powder, which is a mix of many different spices leading to its distinct flavor.  Rather, Curry leaves stand on their own with a strong aroma of both citrus and anise with a taste that is slightly tangy.  Curry leaves are typically added to curries at the beginning to release their oils and flavors.


Other typical ingredients to flavor this dish are Tamarind, Ginger, Sambhar Masala (mix of spices), and Coconut Milk.  We will include a small side salad. As add-ons, we also will offer cucumber raita, a refreshing cucumber yogurt, and Naan, the traditional Indian flatbread.  


Time to Cook:  30 min.
Cook by Day: Friday *Let us know at checkout if you are not cooking on the day of delivery and certain items will be left unprepared.
