We are taking you to the Low Country of South Carolina for some classic comfort food – Shrimp and Grits. We use a wonderfully seasoned Andouille Sausage as the base for the dish, along with veal stock to provide additional depth of flavor. The freshly stone ground Non-GMO White Grits provide a smooth, creamy finish. Since the sausage is mildly spicy, we also will be offering a kid’s meal of Chicken Breast, White Grits, and Fresh English Peas
We also are featuring a Southern Strawberry Salad with Harry’s Organic Strawberries. You may think all strawberries taste alike, until you try Harry’s, which we recently did at a wholesaler conference. Harry Iwamoto established his family farm in 1967 and it has remained a family run business ever since. Harry passed away in 1993 and since then the farm has been run by his son Kaz and daughter Molly. Despite the time since his passing, his daughter and son had a picture of Harry sitting on an old red pickup truck displayed front and center of all the strawberries on display for the attendees. Whether it is the love of their father, their love of farming, or most likely both, they do something to make these strawberries taste exceptional. The Southern Strawberry Salad will be served with a Pepper-Jelly Vinaigrette, Toasted Pecans, and Baby Greens. We also will make them available for purchase plain.
