Meal
Description
The
Family Meal. This is a large meal meant
to serve several people for either Saturday or Sunday night. We
believe everyone should eat good food every day. But, we also believe food is
more than just nutrition and is essential to our well-being. Cooking together
and eating together builds relationships and strengthens the bonds of family
and friendship through the smells, the tastes, the companionship, and the
memories. You sit around a table and your family and friends have no choice but
to talk about their joys and triumphs, as well as challenges and perseverance.
If this meal inspires you to invite your parents over for dinner, or
perhaps some friends you haven’t seen in awhile, well then, we will consider it
a success.
We will
be providing a Grass-Fed standing Rib Roast from a local farm. This 4 lb roast
should feed approximately 6-8 people. The rib will come seared already to
help ensures a nice crust on the outside. The Roast will be cooked at a
low 275 degrees for about 2 hours and will need another 30 minutes to rest.
This low temperature will ensure the meat is tender and pink throughout.
Our
grits come from a small farm in South Carolina. They are Non-GMO and
stone ground, and are white. We prefer white grits due to the more subtle
corn taste. Now, the grits will come plain, but you can make them Blue
Cheese Grits as an option, if desired. There are, hands down, the best
grits we have ever had.
Spring
is here, so we are already seeing wonderful fresh Asparagus coming into our
suppliers. These will be simply roasted.
Harry’s
Strawberries are back in season! We also will be offering a Southern
Strawberry Salad with Harry’s Organic Strawberries. You may think all
strawberries taste alike, until you try Harry’s. Harry Iwamoto
established his family farm in 1967 and it has remained a family run business
ever since. Harry passed away in 1993 and since then the farm has been
run by his son Kaz and daughter Molly. Whether it is the love of their
father, their love of farming, or most likely both, they do something to make
these strawberries taste exceptional. The Southern Strawberry Salad
featuring Harry’s Organic Strawberries, Pepper-Jelly Vinaigrette, Toasted
Pecans, and Baby Greens.
