The National Weather Service has forecasted the weather turning decidedly colder and wet as we head into this weekend. What would be better than a big pot of chili on the stove all weekend long? This is a straightforward traditional chili recipe, however we make our own chili powder which makes all the difference in the world. We remove the seeds, de-stem and roast a variety of peppers, including Ancho, Guajillo, Pasilla, and Chipotle (which adds a smoky element). Since the seeds are removed, there is not heat, but rather you will be able to adjust yourselves with the optional Jalapenos.
We are offering two options: a Grass-Fed Ground Meat Chili, because CookDC's Chairman does not like beans in her chili, and a White Bean Vegetarian Chili because the Chairman does not eat Vegetarian Chili. Then the usual, some shredded cheese and sour cream, maybe something else that looks goods. We also will offer a White Grit Cornbread as an add-on, as well as some Corn Chips if you want to make Nachos!
We would suggest 2 or 3 meal kits and keeping the pot on the stove all weekend long!
Bon Appetit!
